What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing, created by Dr. Peter Levine, is a powerful body based psychotherapy that works by renegotiating trauma which has remained stuck in the nervous system. SE tracks sensations through the body, allowing the nervous system to resolve symptoms of trauma and discharge chronic stress. This creates an opportunity for the body to settle into a coherent, resilient, regulated, balanced and grounded place, where experiencing the fullness of life is accessible.
